Encourage and facilitate leadership development, capacity building, partnering and responsibility amongst groups and organizations.
Be ‘arms length’ to Local Government
Respond to District of Squamish Council requests for input, direction on social programs, policies, issues, and amenities and work to integrate social planning into all areas of local government planning.
Coordination
To provide a link between service component(consumers, service providers, local government, funding sources, etc.) by promoting coordination, resource development, and capacity building.
Cooperation
To promote cooperation, communication and involvement within the social, cultural, environmental, and economic organizations in our community. To facilitate “consensus building” in the decision–making process.
Inclusiveness
To promote
inclusiveness, accessibility, diversity and equity, both within SPC and within
its works and relations with the community.
